Poha is beaten rice or flattened rice. It is very popular breakfast recipe of India. Recipe is simple and healthy yet very yummy. Quick recipe and it doesn't need much ingredients. We can make it with easily available household ingredients .
Children are also very fond of poha . It is a popular tiffin box or lunch box recipe .

Ingredients :(1cup 250ml)
- 1and1/2cup poha
- 1/2cup matar
- Kanda(onion)two large size thinly sliced,
- 2 Green chilli vertically slit,
- 2. Red chilli (two pod) ,
- 1tbs. Ginger, garlic paste,
- 2tbs Coriander chopped to garnish,
- 1/2cup Peanut(moongphali)optional ,
- 1tbs. Turmeric powder (haldi) ,
- 1tbs. Coriander powder (Dhania) ,
- 1tbs. Cumin powder (jeera),
- 1/2tbs. Redchilli powder,
- 1tbs. Garam masala powder ,
- 1tbs. Cumin seed (jeera),
- 2and1/2tbs. Oil(I have used mustard oil, but it is optional you can used as per your taste).
Method:
- Wash and drain (beaten rice) poha.keep aside
- Make thin slices of onion
- Make ginger garlic paste
- Heat heavy bottom kadhai and dry roast peanut ,or
- Add oil in a kadhai and fry peanut.take it out on a kitchen paper towel so extra oil is absorbed
- Add cumin seeds in same leftover oil and let it crackle
- Then add Redchilli and green chilli .saute it
- Now add sliced onion.stir fry onion.when onion becomes translucent.
- Add peas and ginger garlic paste. Stir them.when raw aroma is gone,
- Add turmeric powder, coriander powder , redchilli powder and cumin powder.stir
- Add 1/2 cup water and mix, let it simmer on low flame
- Add salt to taste
- Now add poha in masala mixture
- Stir nicely so that masala and poha mix altogether .If poha mixture is dry sprinkle some water.
- Add roasted peanut and stir to mix
- Poha is now ready to serve
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving
- Wash and drain poha quickly otherwise it will absorb water.
